Two Truths and a Lie
Students share three statements about themselves: two true, and one false. Classmates guess which one is the lie.
Teacher instructions: Have students take turns sharing their statements. Allow time for guessing and revealing the lie.
Dream Job
Students share what they want to be when they grow up or, for older students, discuss their career aspirations.
Teacher instructions: Give students time to think about their dream job. Younger students can draw their future selves, while older students can explain their career goals.
Emoji Self-Description
Students choose five emojis representing different aspects of their personality or life and explain why they chose each.
Teacher instructions: Ask students to select five emojis that describe themselves. Have them share their choices with the class and explain what each emoji represents about them. Encourage thoughtful and creative explanations.
Debate It! Mini-Debates
Students pick a side on a light-hearted debate topic (e.g., "Cats vs. Dogs") and have a quick discussion with a partner or the class to defend their choice.
Teacher instructions: Present a few fun debate topics. Divide the class into pairs or small groups and allow time for each side to present their arguments before discussing them as a class.
Desert Island Essentials
Students list three items they would bring to a deserted island and explain why.
Teacher instructions: Give students time to think and share their choices. Encourage discussion about why they chose those items.
Friendship Bingo
Create a bingo card with fun facts like “Has a pet” or “Loves pizza.” Students mingle to find classmates who match the facts.
Teacher instructions: Hand out bingo cards and explain that students should find others who match the descriptions to fill out their cards.
Classmate Interviews
Students pair up to interview each other on their interests, hobbies, and future aspirations, then introduce their partner to the class.
Teacher instructions: Provide interview questions or let students create their own. Have each student introduce their partner based on the interview.
Story Chain
Students create a story together, each adding one sentence at a time.
Teacher instructions: Start with a prompt and have each student add a sentence. For older students, challenge them to incorporate a theme or specific vocabulary.
